Personally I don’t think you can see far enough ahead at speeds in excess of 130 mph.

Mental
Anything that does over 100mph in first gear has no business being on the ground at all.

Re: Motorbiking

A while ago I had a boss who owned a Ferrari and used to track day it. Always going on about how much he loved speed.
The office we worked from was in Chessington near the A3 and I said 'if you like speed you should come on the back of my Suzuki GSXR 1000 K5 as it does 117mph in first gear '.
'Fuck off, no it doesn't ' he said.
Took an extra helmet in the next day and took him for a little ride up the A3. When we got back he went to get off and his legs went from under him and he landed on his arse.
'I'm not really cut out for bikes' he said. 'I was looking over your shoulder to see how fast we were going but when it got to 172mph and you were still accelerating my arse dropped out and I just put my head down and clung on for dear life'.
Haha!

Yes. A friend of mine who has MS swapped from two wheels to three (and his is a monster) for that very reason. He likes it so much he doesn't swap back to two when he is in remission.

They don't lean like a bike, and you can't filter through stationary traffic.

Those things are meant to be good fun. Some of the experience of riding a bike, but with the stability of a car. A biker who can't ride because of injuries might want one. Or someone who wants a big tourer bike, but doesn't have the experience or strength to ride a Goldwing.

Makes sense. Presumably it's something that a 2 wheel bike rider would not want though?

Probably because you don't need a motorcycle license to ride one if you already have a car driving license.

Aprilia Touno V4R with an Austin Racing GP2 pipe in pearlesent yellow.
Sublime.
Having said that I bought it because it doesn't have a big fairing and I thought it might slow me down but of course it fucking doesn't.
If you've never accelerated something like a Suzuki GSXR 1000 from 90 to 190 you really haven't lived.

Saw a guy at UP once with no lower jaw. Didn't ask what happened, and he couldn't talk anyway, but I think I worked it out.

Has anyone done the sneaky thing of getting your full bike licence by paying £650 for BMW's "ROOKIE TO RIDER" course, then bailed out of buying a bike from them after you've done it?

I use an open face lid for the Vespa to plod about in bit I'd never wear one for a proper sized Bike....it might look cool on a cafe racer but I'd rather not live with half a face if I went down face first thanks.

'Fraid so. And a wellworn Bellstaff jacket. The boss has a fullface helmet and I should change really. Bad enough having to wear flourescent armour (which I do) though.

Those bikes with 2 wheels at the front and one at the back and that bike that had a roof on BMW, popular fora bit in the early 2000s.
Very odd looking and often wondered what they were like to ride.

You've reminded me of one of my more embarrassing moments. St Peter's Street in St.Albans has an extreme camber at the sides. I stopped my Honda CX500 (a heavy lump if there ever was) with one wheel on either side of it, and put my foot down to reach .... nothing! Over she went with me on board, and there was absolutely nothing I could do to stop it. That was the only time I ever fell off a big bike; all my proper accidents were when I was younger on 120 and 250 cc machines.

Oddly enough you don’t really hear the exhaust as it exits behind you.
Ear plugs help with the wind noise (a lot) and modern helmets are pretty well insulated also.
Try it , you may like it.
